Polio Vaccine Study

Polio is a highly contagious viral infection that can lead to serious complications such as movement disability and irreversible paralysis. There is no cure for polio. However, effective vaccines have meant that many countries around the world, like Australia, have eradicated the disease. Despite this, polio remains a major healthcare issue in South Asian countries. That’s why it is important to continue working towards global polio eradication with new vaccines, tools and strategies.

That’s why we’re conducting the Polio Vaccine Study- this study is testing a potential new vaccine against poliovirus types 1, 2 and 3. This study aims to better understand the safety and the ability of the vaccine to activate an immune response of a single dose in healthy participants, compared to a current approved vaccine.
